Katarina Ivanović
Katarina Ivanović (Veszprém, 1811 –Belgrade, 1882) was the first Serbian academy-trained woman painter and the first woman who was honorary member of the Serbian Learned Society (later the Academy of Sciences and Arts). After completing her studies and traveling across Europe, she came to Belgrade full of enthusiasm, but her expectations were not fulfilled and she did not stay long. Luckily, she bequeathed the majority of her paintings to the National Museum in Belgrade. Her works are famous for frequent presence of grapes and the exquisite art of painting fabric folds.
